THE RED ROOM
The Bartholomew County Library’s “Red Room” serves a very important function as the primary public meeting space in the building. It is also an iconic space within the building with its distinctive red carpet and amphitheater form. Over time, it lost its signature color as light and general wear and tear took its toll.
Finishes, including carpet, blinds and the like were all replaced. New concrete was added to the steps to address accessibility concerns, bringing the room up to today’s code standards. Technology for the space was also modernized. Collectively, these improvements are intended to enhance the quality of the space and ensure the iconic Red Room stays red for years to come.
